Do you find yourself feeling sore or tight, with stiff muscles or joints?

Would you like to utilize the information your body is sending you to process and release emotional tension?

Are you active, or would you like to be more consistently active with less pain, tension, and injuries?

Join Callie Strouf, MSW (aka Callegory of Boston Roller Derby) to learn how you can utilize foam rolling, and the wisdom of your body to release tension, shift energy, manage pain, and prevent injuries

Join Callie for 'Roll With It' a 90 minute somatic foam rolling workshop.

What is foam rolling? What does it really do? Where do you start and how do you do it?

Whether you're looking to improve athletic performance, decrease pain & tension, or tune into the state of your energetic system, this is the workshop for you!

Why Foam Rolling?

Callie started foam rolling several years ago following guidance from her Physical Therapist to rehab a severe hip flexor injury. Based on her personal experience, as well as her coaching, therapy, and energetics knowledge she knew the value of foam rolling extended far beyond PT!

Not only does it relieve sore muscles, it can also prevent injuries. Diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder, she has experienced chronic pain, inflammation, and frequent injury with extended recovery time her entire life. Active in volleyball throughout youth and young adulthood, and now quad skating as a roller derby official and player with Boston Roller Derby, she utilizes foam rolling as a daily self care practice.

Foam rolling also has significant value as a somatic tool! Callie also utilizes these techniques to shift energy within the physical body. Similar to other forms of massage, foam rolling is a customizable tool helping to identify, process, and release emotions that have become stuck within the cells of our bodies.

Workshop Supplies & Links

1

Lacrosse Ball

I recommend a Lacrosse Ball over a tennis ball in order to provide consistent and even pressure. You can find these at most sporting goods stores, or I have linked to one below.

2

Orb

I recommend a solid foam orb ball as it will provide consistent pressure for medium sized areas that the foam roller often cannot reach by itself.

3

Foam Roller

There are a variety of foam rollers on the market now. I have linked my favorite all-around option below. This is the foam roller I travel with and I believe it provides the most versatility.
